Music

I thought I didn't like music.

When I was younger, of course, I loved dancing to the beats and singing lyrics off-key. But as I got older, music didn't move me like that anymore. So I thought I didn't like music.

Until this morning.

As I was preparing for meditation, I listened to Tibetan singing bowls, and then a man playing something like a lid on a pot. And I paused. I like the sound of this. Maybe music is different for me in this season of life — a season of stillness.

If I allow myself to go back to the past, I like calming sounds too.

Another discovery.

Even writing this, my first thought was I'm not sure. And then I made the decision from the second one. That's how these things evolve — one pause at a time.
